Works for a Dankso LoverOh, bunion, how dare you make my shoe life difficult! I've lived barefoot and in Danskos for over a decade, but the podiatrist says my dorsal bunion needs a very stable, low, sturdy shoe. The footbed in these Alegria sandals is supportive but very soft and comfortable--and it comes out and can, I'm told, be replaced with a custom orthotic or a new footbed from Alegria. So far my bunion is happy with the factory-supplied footbed.
The velcro adjustment is handy and unobtrusive, and the straps hit at just the right places. The sandals were comfortable right out of the box--no blisters or mishaps in a day of walking through a market and a cherry orchard. My feet stayed in them, and I didn't have the ankle rolling I get when I walk through grass in Danksos. It's almost like wearing my stability running shoes but with good venting.
I prefer the look and height of a Dansko, but these are a decent substitute. Wish they came in more colors, but this sparkly.......
