Birkenstock Offer Excellent SupportI have an extra wide foot (a D width and depending on the shoe sometimes a DD width) and this Madrid sandal fits my foot plus it is adjustable. I also have trouble with heel pain and the support from Birkenstock sandals helps with that problem. The only negative about this sandal is that is a like a flip-flop as it slaps on your foot. As a 65 year old grandmother, I have to be careful that I do not trip and fall so I think a wider band across the foot might eliminate this problem and offer a bit more security. I have been wearing them in the house more like a good supportive slipper and wear more stable sandals for outdoor wear. The leather was a bit stiff when I first wore them, but after a week, it has softened up. If you need good arch support for your feet, Birkenstock are very good.....READ MORE REVIEW
